Religion and ethics

SCRIPTURE AT REVESBY SOUTH PUBLIC SCHOOL

NSW public schools offer special religious education and special education in ethics, delivered by approved providers wherever available.

During enrolment, you can choose a special religious education option for your child from the school’s available approved providers. You can withdraw your child from special religious education by selecting alternative meaningful activities, or special education in ethics if it’s available.

You can update your preference by writing to the school or through the online form available at participating schools.

At Revesby South Public School, Special Religious Education (SRE) lessons are offered each Tuesday morning from 9:15 to 9:45 for Primary students and from 9:45 to 10:15 for Infants students. Students are offered various options, including Anglican Scripture, Catholic Scripture, Islamic Scripture, Orthodox Scripture, Senior Ethics (Years 5/6) and Non Scripture, according to parental approval.

The following list outlines the approved external SRE providers and their relevant Working with Children Approval numbers. Class teachers supervise non Scripture classes.

Non SRE Program

Alternate meaningful activities are provided to students who do not participate in external SRE programs. These students attend grade based alternative programs involving organised lessons based on various Key Learning Areas including PDHPE and English.
