Creative arts

Creative arts is mandatory for students from Kindergarten to Year 6.

In creative arts, students discover a variety of art forms through a study of dance, drama, music and visual arts where they learn to appreciate, compose, listen, make and perform.

Each art form has its own unique knowledge and skills, elements or concepts as well as a capacity to inspire and enrich lives.

Students can unleash their creative flair through dance and drama performances, competitions, exhibitions and enrichment programs.

Students with particular interests and talents can participate in local and statewide activities in visual arts, music, dance and drama.

Choir

The Revesby South Choir has established itself as a platform for our talented musicians to share their skills. The Revesby South Choir not only works to train its members how to the use correct singing techniques, but offers many opportunities for our students to perform in front of the school and its surrounding community.

The Revesby South Choir has been invited to sing at many out-of-school events, such as The Victor Chang Awards, the SWSR Principals Conference and the Regional Aboriginal Education Conference. It has also shared its talents with various pre-schools and aged care homes in our community, and of course; it performs many times at school functions - such as our school's "Bedazzled" and Carols by Sunset each year.

Music Bus

The Music Bus is a private music tuition company that visits our school several times a week (before and after school). The Music Bus provides high quality, professional music tuition in keyboard, guitar, drums, singing and Rock Band. All lessons are held in a hi tech, air-conditioned music lab that is parked in our staff carpark.

For more information on the Music Bus, call our school office for details.

Dance and drama

Revesby South has a great dance program which allows students (whether they dance or not) to be involved with a physical activity other than P.S.S.A.

We have been participating in Wakakirri, which is the National Story Dance Festival, every second year for over twelve years.  In 2012 and 2014 we made it to State Finals, where we won the Environmental award and most creative use of the signature item award.

In 2015 our Dance group performed at the East Hills Choral Festival at Revesby Workers Club.
