Rules and policies

Rules and policies are in place to make sure your child remains safe and well at school.

Our school uses the department's School Community Charter to ensure all of our communication is collaborative and respectful.

Attendance and absences

Students must attend school regularly so they can achieve their educational best and increase their career and life options.

In NSW, all children from the age of 6 are legally required to attend school or be registered for home schooling through the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA). All students must complete Year 10, or its equivalent and remain in school, employment or training until they turn 17.

As well as following the department’s operational policies, we have developed frameworks for our students in line with our school’s values and commitments.

Enrolment policy

Revesby South Public School at all times attempts to maintain the enrolment ceiling in each grade so that student/teacher ratios are at a level that is most beneficial for effective teaching and learning. For more information, please download our enrolment policy .

Library policy

The aim of the school library is to support teachers in the implementation of quality teaching programs. A variety of resources are to be maintained to cater to the needs and interests of all students and staff. The school library is the centre for the teaching of information skills. Attendance policy

Regular attendance at school is essential to assist students to maximise their potential. Schools, in partnership with parents, are responsible for promoting the regular attendance of students. Encouraging regular attendance is a core school responsibility. The school attendance register should reflect the highest professional standards. Discipline code

Anti-bullying plan

This plan outlines the processes for preventing and responding to student bullying in our school and reflects the bullying - preventing and responding to student bullying in schools policy of the New South Wales Department of Education and was developed by members of the school executive at Revesby South Public School with consultation from student representative council and the Parents & Citizens Association. School leader policy

Class formation policy

There needs to be a clear, consistent and transparent policy in the formation of classes at Revesby South Public School so that each student is treated equitably within the organisational structure decided by the school.  The school’s class structure and class formation for any given year will be guided by the aim of maximising educational outcomes for all students.
